In the Fall of 2019, I wanted to find a way to showcase my passions for music, film, and graphic design.
The result was a short-lived but successful meme account.
The idea for this account was brewing in the back of my mind for a while however, I was inspired to create it once similar accounts like Chandler, The Pope, and others started popping up and gaining popularity.
I capitalized on a popular trend and gained 15k followers from just a short three-month span of October to November 2019.
“You like Huey Lewis and the News?”
The iconic scene the account is based on from Mary Herron’s American Psycho (2000) starring Christian Bale.
Thousands of album requests were received through direct messages and comments.
Each post had a caption that was personalized to fit each album and the person who requested it.
The images were typically posted on user’s Instagram stories for 24 hours where thousands of new users could find the account.
